Vibration Generator with Accessory Kit
Vibration Generator with Accessory Kit
Product code: G1010414
Product Description
This Vibration Generator kit includes the following:
- Vibration Generator (B8H30701)
- Vibration Generator Accessory Kit (B8H30920)
The Vibration Generator gives mechanical oscillations when fed by signals from an oscillator/A.F. amplifier (e.g. a Power Signal Generator - B8G85793).
The frequency response encompasses the whole of the audio spectrum and beyond. Electrical input is made via two 4mm sockets and the mechanical output is provided by a shaft terminating in a pair of clamping nuts. The locking slider feature allows the generator arm to be fixed to prevent damage. The Vibration Generator can be used in any position, free standing or clamped.
Technical Specifications:
- Maximum peak to peak displacement: 8mm at 1Hz, decreasing with increase in frequency.
- Total frequency range: D.C. to 10kHz.
- Coil impedance: 3.5O at 50Hz
- Maximum Carrying Load: 150g
- Dimensions: (W)100mm x (D)90mm x (H)95mm
The Vibration Generator requires the following equipment to operate:
- Power Signal Generator - B8G85793 (or similar)
- 4mm Leads (2 required) - B8R05705
The Vibration Generator can also be driven using a Bench Signal Generator (B8G85779) and Power Amplifier (B8R07696) in the absence of a Power Signal Generator.
The Vibration Generator Accessory Kit includes:
- Coil Spring
- Thick Rubber Cord
- Thin Rubber Cord
- Chladni Plate (Size:
- Piano Wire Loop
- Steel Strips
- Transparent Tube
- 20 Coloured Plastic Balls
- Cable Ties
Ideal for the demonstration of standing waves (longitudinal, transverse and 2D) and kinetic theory. The 3D kinetic theory model consists of a transparent tube and 20 coloured plastic balls to represent molecules of a gas or liquid.
- Key Stage 4 Physics - Waves: Amplitude, wavelength, frequency, relating velocity to frequency and wavelength. Transverse and longitudinal waves.
- GCSE Required Practical: Standing Waves
- The Vibration Generator must be powered by a Power Signal Generator. Alternatively a signal from a Bench Signal Generator can be fed through a Power Amplifier in order to boost the signal.
- Take a look at our instructional YouTube Videos to see the Vibration Generator in action.
- Spare/replacement armatures for the Vibration Generator are available as a pack of ten: B8R08145
