Lascells Laser Receiver
Lascells Laser Receiver
Product code: GP00054942
Product Description
The laser receiver is a dual purpose receiver designed for use with the Dual Colour Laser (B8R07376 - not included). The unit contains a planar chip photodiode tied to a 1 MHz amplifier for speed of light calculations along with an audio amplifier for demonstrating data transmission using light.
The laser receiver unit is powered by a 9 V DC supply (included) and has a built-in speaker for audio reception. The amplified audio is also brought out to 4 mm sockets on the front panel for observation or connection to a secondary driver such as the Ruben’s Tube.
When using the Laser Receiver for speed of light calculations, the audio amplifier is disabled with the signal brought to the front panel only for monitoring using an oscilloscope.
Technical Specifications:
- Dimensions: (L)190 x (W)65 x (H)110mm
- Input Voltage: External 9V D.C. +ve pin (Included)
- Frequency Range: 1MHz / Audio frequencies switchable
- Allows for the demonstration of transmitting of data (e.g. music) when used in combination with the Lascells Dual Colour Laser B8R07376
- Physics: Waves, Optics & Lasers
- A-Level Physics Required Practical - Calculating the Wavelength of Different Coloured Lasers
- A suitable/safe laser for use in schools should have an output of less than 1Mw
